NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE WEEK 9

NFL WEEK 9 --- law school is killing me w/ time so I haven't been able to update this as much but here are winners (picks) for today

GAME OF THE YEAR:
Patriots giving 5.5 to the Colts --- I think the Pats will win but I have to go w/ the Colts at home and 5.5. Patriots 31 Colts 28

LOCK OF THE WEEK:
Chargers giving 7 to the Vikings --- San Diego may be the only team that can play offensively w/ the Pats and they are finally doing just that. Chargers 38 Vikings 17

CLOSE TO A LOCK:
Cinncy giving 1 to the Bills --- Bengals offensive will be back this week and have everyone asking 2 questions. 1. how did the bills beat the ravens and how does cinncy have a losing record. Bengals 31 Bills 14

Jacksonville getting 3 at Saints --- The saints, like the chargers, are finally playing good football. The jags are a better team but not with Quinn Grey at the helm. Jax 17 Saints 28

GOOD BUT NOT GREAT BETS:
Houston getting 3 at Oakland. A. Johnson and J. Mathis are still out for the texans and McCown is back at the helm for the Raiders. I think this will be a blow out but I could easily be wrong thats why it is not under the category above. Houston 16 Raiders 34

Seattle getting 1.5 at Clevland. Maybe its just b/c Cleveland has been so bad in the past but I see D. Anderson coming back to earth in this game. Should actually be a fun one to watch. hawks 27 browns 17

the rest:
Washington 27 (-3.5) Jets 23
Green Bay 23 (+2.5) KC 24
Arizona 17 (+3.5) Tampa Bay 21
Carolina 10 (+4) Titans 23
San Fran 16 (+3) Atlanta 24
Denver 24 (+3) Detroit 28
Dallas 27 (-3.5) Eagles 30 OT
Baltimore 16 (+9.5) Pittsburgh 24

NFL Week 6

Welp, I did fairly well in College yesterday going 32-20, lets see how the NFL fares this week.

LOCK OF THE WEEK

Carolina (+4.5) @ Arizona

Carolina is starting the ageless wonder V. Testeverde or so it seems like way as D. Carr has been down-graded and Arizona will get its 1st full game w/ K. Warner which improves their team. I love this game.

Carolina 13 Arizona 30

add'l lock --- OVER in KC/Cinncy

LIKE IT A LOT

Minnesota (+5) @ Chicago

Chicago is still a little banged up on Defense, but are starting to get healthy, This game is going to be a battle for a 3 quarters with not much scoring, however turnovers will hurt the vikings who will not be able to throw.

Minnesota 16 Bears 27

New York Giants (-3.5) @ Atlanta

Seriously, the falcons stink, yes they putting up a lot of passing yards but J. Harrington to Roddy White is not as good as E. Manning to P. Burress. The Giants D has looked good as of late and I expect that to continue against a so-so Atlanta 0-line.

Giants 34 Falcons 17

LIKE

Philadelphia (-3.5) @ New York Jets

Which D. McNabb and eagles offense will we see? I think a good one as Westbrook and Smith are both back. The eagles are banged up in the seconary which makes me a little hesitant on this game, but I think they have enough to defeat the J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS

Eagles 27 Jets 20

Oakland (+9.5) @ San Diego

This is a rival game and usually would not touch it. But, San Diego is on a mission, LT will have over 200 all purpose yards this game and their D will have a field day. X-factor in this game is Culpepper alogn w/ the Raiders ground game (#1 in the NFL), but without L. Jordan.

Raiders 17 Chargers 31

Cinncinnati (-3) @ Kansas City

I do not know about the Bengals, totally banged up alogn the Defensive front severn, but that offense is amazing and looks to have R. Johnson back today. The chiefs will be able to score and I think LT will have a solid game but not enough.

Bengals 31 Chiefs 24

the rest:
ST. LOUIS 17 (+9.5) @ Baltimore 24
MIAMI 23 (+4.5) @ Cleveland 17
WASHINGTON 24 (+3.5) @ Green Bay 20
Houston 14 (+6.5) @ JACKSONVILLE 21
NEW ORLEANS 21 (+6.5) @ Seattle 27
TENNESSEE 20 (+3) @ Tampa Bay 17

UPSET OF THE WEEK

New England (-5.5) @ Dallas

5.5 at Dallas is a big number. What would it have been if Dallas played well against Buffalo? Dallas has not given up a TD (defensively) in the past 2 weeks, that trend will not continue today but it is impressive. NE comes in with the 1 scoring offense and #3 scorign defens. Dallas is the #2 scoring offense and the #13 scoring defense.

New England looks unstoppable, but they stumble today, not having L. Maroney will finally hurt them. Dallas needs to run the ball with Jones/Barber to wear down NE and keep them off of the field, Harrison will come up to stop the run and then Romo will go to Crayton a lot today. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST

New England 24 Dallas 35

Thursday NIGHT

started off w/ a win w/ Navy last night

Tonight is an ACC mathcup b/w Wake Forest and Florida State, being a Florida/Penn State fan I hate FSU, but I do not pick w/ my heart. FSU has a SOLID defense and that will prevail tonight. FSU is giving 6 points and are on the road. I keep telling myself to stop picking road teams but ...

Florida State 27 Wake Forest 17

MLB

I got 3 of the 4 series right in round 1.

I am going to stick w/ my original predictions of Colorado v. Red Sox in the Series.

Colorado / Arizona will go down to the wire, while Cleveland will only win 1 against the Sox.

Wednesday, October 10, 2007

Navy @ Pitt

Only 1 game on the slate for tonight.

I am not happy w/ my picks as of late so I am doing a more detailed system, that takes way too much time and probably means nothing but I'm am trying it nonetheless

Navy goes into Pittsburgh as 4 and a half point dogs. Probably a good line as the teams are rather even and it is at Pitt. Pitt has been turning it over a lot this year and I think that will cost them tonight as Navy plays a controlled game on the ground.

NAVY 28 PITT 24

WEEK 6 - COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Welp my top 10 last week wasn't too great, but I did do well on all the rest of my picks, everyweek I feel like I have to eliminate teams to try and narrow it done. This week I really wanted to include a lot of home teams, but I am having trouble coming up w/ 10 team I like, this could be a good thing though. We shall see how it works out. Ah Shit, I'm giving an extra freebie and posting 11 games for you to select from this week.

11. Wisconsin (+2.5) Illinois --- take WISCONSIN---

Wisconsin wins, they win ugly, they win close, they win at home, they win on the road, they have the longest winning streak in the nation. They have a balanced O that runs the ball well and have a tough D. Illinois is on the rise but will be sent back to earth. Wisconsin 27 Illinois 20

10. Arkansas State (-2.5) @ Louisana Monroe --- take ARKANSAS STATE---

Most people do not know that there is a school called Arkansas State, but they are actually a pretty good team. They beat a decent Memphis team and have a well balanced offense. They lost to Texas by 8 and are going up against a La Monroe team giving up over 500 yards per game. Arkansas State 31 La Monroe 13

9. Arizona State (-9) @ Wasington State --- take ARIZONA STATE---

The sun devils have been playing some good football this year, scoring 22 tds and giving up only 6 tds. Wasington State has a high powered offense but has no defense whatsoever giving up 24 touchdowns on the year. ASU will be 6-0 after this game. Arizona St 55 Wash St 31

8. Ohio State (-7) @ Purdue --- take OHIO STATE ---

The buckeyes are solid on Defense this year giving up only 3 Tds all year, Purdue on the other hand have been an offensive juggernaut scoring 40 or more points in every game but 1 all year. But Purude has played no one and the Buckeyes have been tested on the road twice already. Ohio State 31 Purdue 14

7. Miami Fl. (-7) @ UNC ---take MIAMI---

The hurricanes made a statement when they dominated Texas A&M on primetime tv. They are finally playing together as a team. UNC is not the unc of old but they are not that good either. Hurricans will ROLL. Miami 30 UNC 16

6. Wake Forest (-7.5) @ Duke --- take WAKE FOREST ---

The deamon deacons will not be able to show their face in No. Carolina fi they lose this game and they will not lose. Wake is a pretty good team, not great and Duke is a pretty bad team, not terrible. This will be an ugly game to watch, but wake will cover. WF 34 Duke 17

5. Colorado (-9.5) @ Baylor --- take COLORADO---

After a huge win Colorado needs to make sure they are focused. If they are they should not have a problem. Their D is very solid and their offense....well we won't discuss that. Colorado 27 Baylor 10

4. Houston (+10) @ Alabama --- take ALABAMA---

Houston throws for 250 and runs for 200 on average. But thats b/c they do not play teams like Alabama. Nick Saban will have his squad ready to hit hard and play hard. John Parker Wilson will have a huge tide for the Tide throwing the ball. Houston 20 Alabama 35

3. Vanderbilt (+7.5) @ Auburn --- take AUBURN---

Are they that good? We shall see, Auburn's D came to play last week and Brandon Cox who has been in the SEC for what seems like 10 years looks like he will finally step up and lead this offense. This is a big test for Auburn to see if they are for real or not. Vandy 20 Auburn 31

2. Kansas (+3.5) @ Kansas State --- take KANSAS STATE---

The Jayhawks are undefeated and K St's only loss is to Auburn. Looks like a great in state battle on paper, but look who Kansas has played: Central Michigan, Southeast Louisana, Toledo, and Florida International, so in other words, they have played NOBODY. K St has to be feeling confident after they demolished Texas last week. Kansas 17 Kansas State 31

1. Virginia (-10) @ Middle Tennessee State --- take VIRGINIA---

At first glance, I would think this is a no brainer, I mean who is Middle Tn St? They have played L'ville and lost by 16 and layed LSU and lost by 44, they beat Fla Atlantic by 13, W. Ky by 3 and Florida Internatioal by 41. So they have played some good teams and been destroyed. Virginia scares me b/c they have not scored a whole lot of points, but I expect that to change today. Virginia 38 Mid Tn St 17

MLB PLAYOFFS ROUND 1 (BEST OF 5)

National League

Colorado Rockies wild card v. Philadelphia Phillies nl east champ Colorado in 5

I think the Rockies are just too hot right now for the phillies. Neither team is very strong on the pitching front and both have grea offenses, although I would give the edge to the Rockies. Everyone is saying how high scoring this series will be but I think the average runs scored will be 9, is that high scoring, I do not know X-FACTOR - Pat Burrell - if he can produce then I think the Phils will win.

MVP of series Garrett Atkins 10-23 3 bb's 2 HR 3 2b's 7 RBIs 5 Runs

Chicago Cubs nl central champs v. Arizona Diamondbacks nl west champs Chicago in 4

I would love to see the D-Backs win as they are a scrappy team, but I just do not see them getting the big hit when it is needed, they will be fun to watch though. Cubs actually have a prett good Pitching staff as long as Zambrano can hang tough, Lilly and Hll will be important in this series as they both can dominate or be dominated. In the end I think the Cubs power will be the difference. X-Factor Chris Young -- he strikes out a lot and had a low BA in the regular season he needs to get hits and get on base to set the tone for the D-backs

MVP of series Alfonso Soriano 11-20 2 bbs 3 Hr 1 3b 3 2bs 6 Rbi's 8 Runs

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Anaheim Angels al west champs v. Boston Red Sox al east champs Boston in 3 (sweep)

Boston will be too much for the injured Angels to handle. Vlad can only hit, which hurts the D b/c he has a cannon in Right Field and Gary Mathews Jr. is out which hurts them offensively and really hurts them Defensively. Lackey is their best hope to win the series as he will have to pitch lights out at Fenway tonight and I do not see it happening. I think the Red Sox will light up the score board. X-Factor Garrett Anderson - he was probably thee best offensive player from the all-star break on and if he continues to stay hot it will improve the Angels chances.

MVP of series Mike Lowell 5-13 1 bb 2 HR 3 2bs 5 rbis 4 runs

New York Yankees al wild card v. Cleveland Indians al central champs Cleveland in 5

I hate the Yanks but I also hate picking against them as they are so deep w/ talent and experience. Not sure why I am picking the Indians other than Sabathia and Carmona. Whoever wins the first game will win the series in my opinion. The indians studs will have to be on the ball to win this series, should be a good one. X-factor A-Rod - I think he is the best in baseball and if he can come through in the clutch then the Yanks win.

MVP of series Ryan Garko 9 - 20 5 bbs 2 HR 3 2bs 8 rbis 4 runs

College Football WEEK 6 "pre" weekend

Went 4-6 in my top 10 last week putting me at 50% for the year which is not good. However, I did go 30-20 overall which is not too bad. This week I will have 12 top picks b/c there are 2 games I like that are being played during the week.

2. (Friday Night) Utah (+14.5) @ Louisville --- take LOUISVILLE---

Louisville is back on track. Their D played lights out against a formidable foe in N.C. State last week winning 29-10. Utah's offense is similiar to N.C. State's putting up about 230 yards passing and less than 100 yards rushing per game. They have scored only 10 touchdowns while giving up 10 touchdowns. Utah lost by 17 to Oregon St, 8 by Air Force and 27 by UNLV, and none of those teams have the offense Louisville does. Louisville is gaining 400 yards per game in the air and over 200 yards rushing. Utah will play them tough, but will not be able to keep up. Utah 27 Louisville 45

1. (Tuesday Night) Marshall (+3) @ Memphis --- take MEMPHIS---

We all have heard about the Memphis shooting and I am sure there will be a lot of emotion in Memphis tonight. Neither team is that good Marshall 0-4 and Memphis 1-3. Offenses are somewhat similiar with Marshall scoring 9 tds and memphis scoring 14, Memphis has the edge in defense giving up 14 tds while Marshall has given up 22. Marshall cannot run the ball at all, but should have some success throwing the ball. The key will be turnovers. I think Memphis will get a few INT's and win this game by about 2 Tds. Marshall 24 Memphis 35

Rest:

Rice 20 (+20) So. Miss 38
Thursday
Kentucky 31 (+3.5) So. Carolina 23

NFL week 4

The NFL has had an unbelievable amount of injuries so far this year affecting almost everyone's fantasy teams. I think we will have another injury this week, Randy Moss's hamstring is what I am betting on. All kidding aside, I did absolutely terrible on my College Picks so I need to really shine on my NFL picks. Here goes nothing

Oakland Raiders (+4) @ Miami Dolphins (o/u 41) --- Take OAKLAND / OVER---

Daunte Culpepper is getting the start in sunny Miami and he looked sharp coming in last week against the lowly Browns. The Raiders could easily have two more wins on the year and the Dolphins have to be happy with Ronnie Brown showing signs of life last week. I think this will actaully be a good close game with the fins winning late on a FG. Raiders 20 Dolphins 23

Houston Texans (-3) @ Atlanta Jailbirds (o/u 39.5) --Take HOUSTON / UNDER---

The texans are one of the surprises of the year playing very good defense and doing well on the offense of side of the ball as well. It looks like Ron Dayne is going to get the start as Ahman is hurting. Joey Harrington tossed the pigskin around well last week, but I do not expect him to fair as well this week. Wathc for the texans special teams to make a big play. Texans 20 Falcons 10

Baltmore Ravens (-4) @ Cleveland Browns (o/u 40) -- take BALTIMIORE / UNDER --

The ravens that everyone thought would be here have yet to show up and the browns keep hanging around. Kellen Winslow has a partially seperated shoulder which I think really hurts the browns. I expect this to be a close low scoring game with baltimore pulling away late. J. Lew will be fired up to face his old team put that will not matter in the end. Ravens 24 Browns 10

Chicago Bears (-3) @ Detroit Lions (o/u45) --- take LIONS / OVER ---

Da Bears do not look like Da Bears. Conventional Wisdom tells me to pick them, but the cowboys threw all over them last sunday nigth and well thats all the Lions can do. Kevin Jones is back and that will help the Lions rush offense. If the Lions D can hold up then the Lions will be on their way to Kitna's 10. Bears 20 Lions 27

Green Bay Packers (-2.5) @ Minnesota Vikings (o/u 38) -- take PACKERS / OVER ---

Green Bay is playing out of their mind and I find myself rooting for Brett Favre. He really enjoys the game and is fun to watch. The Pack's defense is playing well, if Green Bay can start some sort of running game they will be a very solid team. Minnesota has to be one of the worst teams in the league and if Green Bay can stop A. Peterson then they should roll to 4-0. Packers 31 Vikings 17

St. Louis Rams (+14) @ Dallas Cowboys (o/u 47) --- take RAMS / OVER---

The Rams, on paper, have a wonderful Offense, but cannot do anything. Beign without Steven Jackson will not help matters, with the rookie Brian Leonard getting his 1st start. I think the Rams will get on track with their offense, but they will not beat Dallas who will do whatever they want on offense. Rams 20 Cowboys 31

New York Jets (-3.5) @ Buffalo Bills (o/u 37.5) --- take J-E-T-S/UNDER---

The jets are on the brink of being a good team. They get good QB play not spectacular but good, have a solid RB T. Jones and a good core of WR's. I thought their Defense would be much better and this good be their game to turn it around. Poor Bills, they seem to be the poster team for injuries, Kevin Everett, Paul Poslusney, and now J.P. Losman. Marshawn Lynch has been spectacular and now rooke Trent Edwards will get his chance to shine. Jets 27 Bills 10

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+3) @ Carolina Panthers (o/u 40) --- take PANTHERS / UNDER---

This is a tough game to read. The bucs have been playing well and the panthers are up and down. It looks like David Carr is going to get the start for the panthers, which adds even more to the uncertainty of this game. I think it will be close with the home team pulling it out. . Bucs 17 Panthers 21

Seattle Seahawks (-2.5) @ San Francisco 49ers (o/u 40.5) --- take SEAHAWKS / OVER---

I do not like this game at all. In my mind Seattle is the better team, and Alexander is hurt and I do not know how much. 49ers play seattle tough at home and I should pick the niners but I cannot help myself. Seahawks 27 49ers 21

Pittsburgh Steelers (-6.5) @ Arizona Cardinals (o/u 41.5) --- take STEELERS / OVER --

There will be some key players out in this game. Hines Ward - out, Levi Brown - out, Anquan Boldin - out. Pittsburgh has been playing smart tough football and has ran the ball very well. The Cardinals are in limbo at the QB position and I think the Steelers will bring the heat against Leinart. Warner will play in this game at some point. Steelers 28 Cardinals 17

Kansas City Chiefs (+12) @ San Diego Chargers (o/u 39) --- take CHARGERS / OVER ---

Larry Johnson is questionable for this game and I don not know if that will even matter, as he is averaging about 50 yards a game. The Chargers will be out to kill this game and I expect their offense and defense to dominate this game. Chiefs 10 Chargers 34

Denver Broncos (+10) @ Indianapolis Colts (o/u 46.5) -- take BRONCOS / OVER ---

The Broncos are not looking as good as I thought they would be. Henry is running well, but Cutler needs to step it up. The Colts are winning, not big, but winning and thats what I think this game will be. Broncos 21 Colts 27

Philadelphia Eagles (-3) @ New York Giants (o/u 47.5) --- take GIANTS / OVER ---

The Giants had a big comeback win on the road last week and the Eagles finally showed that they were alive. I think the Eagles are a really good team, but I am going with the Giants at home. Eli is looking good and I think Plexico is finally a veteran that can be counted on. Westbrook is suppose to be questionable for this game so that could be a difference maker. If the Eagles of last week show up I think they will win. Eagles 24 Giants 28

New England Patriots (-8) @ Cincinnati Bengals (o/u 53.5) --- take PATS / OVER---

If Rudi Johnson was playing I would take the Bengals to upset the Pats, but he is not and I am not. The Pats are For Real, but I would not be surprised if the Bengals pull it off. They would need to create some turnovers but I think Carson and Co. could do what they did against the Ravens in week 1. Randy moss will pull his hamstring as well. Pats 34 Bengals 23

Thursday, September 27, 2007

College Week 5

Well there was a lot of craziness last week and I am sure there will be more this week. I went 6-4 in my top 10 picks which is respectable but I would like to be around 7 -3 or better.

TOP 10

10. Air Force (+2.5) @ The Naval Academy ---- take AIR FORCE---

Ok so there may be a few teams from last week's top 10 back on this list and well if they do not do it this week, then you will not see them on the top 10 anymore. Air Force has a strong team and Navy is very one dimensional rushing for over 300 yards per game and throwing for about 100. Air Force on the other hand is giving up less than 100 yards rushing per game. Air Force 38 Navy 24

9. Michigan (-17) @ Northwestern --- take MICHIGAN---

I think Michigan is back. Still not as good as originally thought, but their D will have no trouble with Northwestern who are awful. Anyone who watched the Ohio State / NW game last week knows OSU could have won by 100. Michigan will be running on all cylinders in this game. Michigan 45 Northwestern 17

8. Kansas State (+14) @ Texas --- take TEXAS---

The long horns are out to prove they are for real. They had trouble against K St last year in Manhattan and want to see revenge. Everyone is writing them off this year but I expect to see a big day from Colt McCoy. This is a statement game for Texas and I think we will see a dominating performance. K St 13 Texas 38

7. Syracuse (-1.5) @ Miami (Oh) --- take SYRACUSE---

The ORANGE looked good last week, with a huge upset of L'ville at Papa John's Stadium. Miami(OH) has to be one of the worse teams in the country. Syracuse's win last week will do wonders for their psyche and it will show in this game. Syracuse 31 Miami (Oh) 20

6. Clemson (-3) @ Georgia Tech --- take CLEMSON ----

Georgia Tech is a solid football team that can play defense and run the ball. Clemson is also a solid team that can run and paly D. I think this is one of the best mathcups this week and expect it to be close most of the way. However, I think Clemson's RB duo will wear down Tech in the end. Clemson 27 Georgia Tech 17

5. UCLA (+2) @ Oregon State --- take UCLA---

Ben Olson is fighting to keep his job as the UCLA QB as Cowan did a nice job last week. I think the Utah blow up by UCLA was a fluke and the real UCLA will stand up. Expect a normal high scoring game as neither defense is very good. UCLA 38 Oregon State 31

4. Bring Them Young BYU (-5.5) @ New Mexico --take BYU---

BYU throws throws and throws some more and New Mexico does not like to play pass defense. I do not expect to see much running in this one. BYU is throwing for around 350 yards a game while New Mexico is giving up close to 300. Not to be outdone NM likes to throw as well. But comparing position by postion BYU is just too talented. BYU 34 N. Mexcio 24

3. Pittsburgh (-7) @ Virginia --- take VIRGINIA---

Virginia is coming off a big win against Georgia Tech and well Pitt got spanked by Uconn. The Wahoos play well at home and PItt is giving a true freshman the start at QB. Pitt may keep this game close as neither team is explosive. Pitt 17 Virigina 28

2. Penn State (-3) @ Illinois -- take PSU---

PSU has one of the best D's in the country while the offense is horrendous. It may be time for JoePa to go as the play calling last week against Michigan was terrible. Illinois runs the ball and that plays to the strength of PSU's defense. Illinois has no where the defense Michigan has and I expect PSU to open it up on offense. PSU 27 Illinois 13

1. Cincinnati (-14) @ San Diego ---take CINCINNATI---

The Bearcats are a fun team to watch and are very good. They have played a rather easy sked, with Oregon State throw in there and in four games have scored 21 tds while only giving up 3. San Diego has scored 10 tds and given up 12 while giving up over 500 yards a game. Should be an easy one for the bearcats. Cincinnati 42 San Diego 13

NFL Week3

2-0 Detriot Lions, Washington Redskins, Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans
0-2 Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, New Orleans Saints

The NFL is off to a crazy start this year and I think it will continue today. I do not believe I picked many underdogs but I am sure there will be a few surprises. If the Saints go 0-3 to start the year I will be perplexed but anyway, I have a hangover and just want to get this thing started.

Indianapolis Colts (-7) @ Houston Texans --- take COLTS----

I love what the Texans are doing, getting young studs on defensive to build around and the trade for Matt Schaub was one I loved. I have been calling for him to start for years over the jail bird Vick. Peyton Manning in my opinion is the best quarterback ever. period. The Colts are so fun to watch with him tossing to Wayne and Harrison. Andre Johnson is out today which will hurt the Texans. Colts 34 Texans 14

San Diego Chargers (-6.5) @ Green Bay Packers --- take PACKERS ---

I really do not know what to think about with this game. The Packers are 2-0 because of a strong defense and the Chargers are 0-2 and Philip Rivers looks terrible. LT is due for a big game and the Chargers pass defense looked suspect against Brady and Co. I am going to say the Chargers get their first W but it will be close. Chargers 24 Packers 20

Minnesota Vikings (+3) @ Kansas City Chiefs --- take CHIEFS ---

Larry Johnson will see the ball about 30 times today. Herm cannot lose to the vikings at arrowhead. I think LJ will have a big day wil over 150 all purpose yards and 2 Tds. Tavaris Jackson is out as Qb for the Vikings and it looks like Kelly Holcomb will be in which is an upgrade altough my sources (ESPN) tell me he does not know the entire playbook. Chiefs 28 Vikings 13

Detriot Lions (+5.5) @ Philadelphia Eagles -- take EAGLES ---

I would love to see the Lions go to 3-0, I am a huge Kitna fan. You have to love him predicting 10 wins, it is just great. And for McNabb, wow he really needs to have a big game. He may get attacked inside the stadium if he plays poorly if all the controversy that he has started and the 0-2 start. I gotta think that the Eagles come out firing today. Eagles 27 Lions 17

Buffalo Bills (+17) @ New England Patriots --- take PATRIOTS ---

Patriots look unreal. I mean almost scary. I do not know how they will lose. They have not ran the ball real well but there is no need. I think they could be even better if they threw some more to Stallworth, who the Eagles should have kept but that is another discussion. The only way the Bills keep the spread (not the game) close is to hold the Pats to field goals. Bills 10 Patriots 38

Miami Dolphins (+3) @ New York Jets -- take J-E-T-S---

I like both Jets QB's Pennington is probably the most accurate passer in the NFL right now and Clemons seems to have a bright future ahead of him. If the Jets WR's can hold on to the ball they may have won at Baltimore with Clemons. The Dolphins are pathetic. I think Trent Green is ok and can still produce but Ronnie Brown had better turn it around now or Jesse Chatman will be starting and that is not good for the Phins. Jets 23 Dolphins 9

San Francisco 49ers (+9.5) @ Pittsburgh Steelers ----take STEELERS---

The Steel Curtain is back. The Defense looks amazing and if the secondary can stay tough, they will win the AFC North. Willie Parker right now looks like he should have been the #1 fantasy RB and Big Ben has faired fairly well. The Niners have looked ok but they are 2-0. Manny Lawson injury hurts as the Defense has been there strong suit. Steelers 31 49ers 17

Arizona Cardinals (+7.5) @ Baltimore Ravens --- take CARDINALS---

The Ravens do not seem like the same team as last year. Ed Reed is still an animal but they just do not look like a unit to be feared. Yes they are still one of the best but I think they are on a decline. This game will come down to how well the Arizona O-line can play. Edge seems to have gained a step from last year and Matt Leinart if he has time, should be able to hit his big WRs. Ravens 23 Cardinals 21

St. Louis Rams (+4) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers --- take PUSH---

Jeff Garcia is a very good QB. He loves the long ball and Joey Galloway is a speedster. The defense is playing well and if Cadillac Williams is healthy the Bucs actually have a pretty nice team. Marc Bulger, Tory Holt, Stephen Jackson, not many teams have a 3 headed monster like that, unfortunately for them they will be 0-3 after three weeks. I find myself rooting for the Rams but I just don't see it. Bucs 28 Rams 24

Jacksonville Jaguars (+3.5) @ Denver Broncos --- take BRONCOS---

Jason Elam will finally get a day off. The Jags need to get some WR's, Garrard looks pretty good but has not true go to guy and I still could be wrong but I would not trade Amani Toomer for Maurice Jones-Drew well maybe I would but the point is, I think he was a 1 year wonder. Broncos 21 Jags 10

Cinncinatti Bengals (+3) @ Seattle Seahawks -- take SEAHAWKS --

This is the toughest game to pick for me. I do not know which Bengal team will show up. If they get a defense they will be very good as their Offense is one of if not the best in the league. Seahawks might be the team to win the NFC by seaon's end as Hasselback and Alexander look good so far. Today is a big game for the Hawks as it is on their home turf. Hawks 28 Bengals 24

Cleveland Browns (+3) @ Oakland "Daaaa" Raiders --take RAIDERS--

Derek Anderson is not that good. The Raiders have played fairly well but are 0-2. Today they get their first W of the season. I would love to see Daunte get under center to see what he has. I mean 3 years ago he was the #1 fantasy player. Maybe he still has some magic left. Raiders 23 Browns 7

Carolina Panthers (+4.5) @ Atlanta Falcons --- take PANTHERS---

I would love to see the Falcons go 0-16, the dog curse. Carolina will get back on track after a blowing a 14 point lead last week. I like the Panthers A LOT in this game. Panthers 38 Falcons 10

New York Giants (+4) @ Washington Redskins ---take GIANTS --

I think the Giants have a lot of good players but not a good team. Eli Manning finally looks like a QB to me and I think he will do well from here on out. They need to draft all Defensive players as their Offense is ok. The skins look impressive. Cambell needs to get a little more accurate but Betts and Portis are beasts in the backfield. The skins have a nice defense. Redskins 21 Giants 20

Dallas Cowboys (+3) @ Chicago Bears -- Take PUSH--

I hate the cowboys but they look really good on Offense. The Bears look really bad on offense. The cowboys look really bad on defense. The bears look really good on Defense. Most people say they would take a great d over a great o. Bears 17 Cowboys 14

Tennessee Titans (+4) @ New Orleans Saints --take SAINTS--

I like the Saints here a lot. I mean they can't lose at home to go 0-3 can they??? VY looks good but needs a WR. Untl then they will keep a lot of games close but not win. Saints 34 Titans 23

Week 4 - College Football

I am finaly back and here to stay.....

This year I am going to give you my 10 Best Bets and then all the rest of the games, I am going to try and incorporate 1 over / under per week as well just because this is my blog and I can do what I want.

I posted my overal record against the spread from last year, lets see if I can get in the 60% range.

10. Over / Under Louisville @ Syracuse 67.5 --- take - OVER

Syracuse is God awful and so is Louisville's Defense. If Syracuse can muster 10 measly points then this should be a no brainer OVER. Washington and Illinois both scored over 40 against this team. I expect Louisville to have 40 at the half. I'm usually not big on over / under bets but this one will be OVER.

9. Arizona (+13.5) @ California --- take - CALIFORNIA

California's offense is explosive. And so is their Special Teams with 1st rounder Desean Jackson, who is a thrill to watch. Arizona is having a down year barely getting by New Mexico by 2 last week. Jackson should cover the spread by himself. Cal 42 Arizona 20.

8. Iowa (+8) @ Wisconsin ---- take - WISCONSIN

I know, I know Wisconsin has been barely winning against teams that they should be pounding and they have heard this as well. Camp Randall Stadium will be going crazy for this one as they know their team has a good shot of winning the Big 10 conference. Iowa is coming off a defeat by the in state foe Iowa State (15-13). Iowa has a strong strong Defense but that offense is horrendous. I expect this to be close at the half with Wisconsin dominating the 2nd half. Wisconsin 31 Iowa 13.

7. Penn State (-3) @ Michigan --- take - PENN STATE

Penn State has not won at the Big House in about a decade, which is almost half of my life. But anyway PSU fans have to be thrilled that Chad Henne is not starting this game as Buffalo threw all over them last week. PSU should come out throwing to establish a nasty running game with Kinlaw, Scott and Royster. Michigan's D has given up 167 yards rushing per game while PSU has given up 17 yards per game, now I know their opponents have not been the same other than Notre Dame, but this is PSU's year to win the Big 10 and it starts today. Penn State 27 Michigan 13.

6. Illinois (-2) @ Indiana --- take -- ILLIONOIS

Wow 3 Big 10 games in a row. This game will be won at the line of scrimmage. Illinois rushes for over 250 yards per game, while the hoosiers give up only 60 yards rushing per game. The atlethicism of Juice Williams will be too much for Indiana to handle. Illinois is on the rise and will show that they are no longer the bottom of the Big 10. Illinois 37 Indiana 21.

5. Clemson (-7.5) @ N. C. State --- take --- CLEMSON

I hate taking so many away teams, but what can you do. I have always loved the passing game, today I am focusing on rushing and there may not be a better combination in the country (arkansas, wvu) then what Clemson has going down in Death Valley. So far this year they have been successful throwing the ball as teams are stacking the line to stop the rush. N.C. State has had a problem with turnovers and I expect that to continue to today with Clemon's ferocious pass rush. Clemson 31 N.C. State 17

4. Air Force (+13.5) @ BYU --- take -- AIR FORCE

This is my first underdog pick and I am falling into a trap. BYU lost to a Tulsa team that got pounded last night although it was agaisnt Oklahoma 55-47 and lost to UCLA 27-17. Meanwhile, Air Force beat TCU 20-17 and won at Utah 20-12. This is the same Utah team that beat UCLA last week 44-6, something just doesn't smell right here but numbers don't lie or do they? Air Force 24 BYU 21

3. Troy State (-9.5) @ Louisiana-Lafayette ---take---TROY

The Men of Troy have played surpringsly well against Arkansas and Florid and man handled Oklahoma State last week 41-23. Troy is all about the passing game and look for them to have over 400 yards in the air. No way La-Lafayette is better then the Cowboys of Okie State. I must put out a disclaimer that it may be raining in LA today, but go with it anyway. Troy 38 La Lafayette 17.

2. Oregon (-18) @ Stanford --- take --- OREGON

Oregon in my opinion is the nubmer 2 Pac-10 team behind USC and their team is clicking on all cylinders, meanwhile, Stanford has to be one of the worst temas in the Pac-10. Oregon went into the Big House and physically dominated a physical Big 10 team in Michigan and slowed Houston's high powered offense to 27 points. Meanwhile Stanford got spanked by UCLA 45-17, expect the same today. Oregon 52 Stanford 24.

1. Iowa State (-3.5) @ Toledo -- take --- IOWA STATE

Toledo has to be one of the worst Defense's in the country, giving up 52, 52 and 45 to Purdue, Central Michigan and Kansas. Oh and they give up over 500 yards per game. NOT GOOD. Iowa State's offense has yet to get on track but do have a solid D giving up 23, 24, and 13 points to Kent State Northern Iowa and Iowa. I'm not saying Iowa State is a great team, but I see them pulling this one off and scoring around 35 points. Iowa State 35 Toledo 24.

Super Bowl

Man I can't wait to watch some of those commercials... Not going to lie, I miss the Bud Bowls... Not looking forward to the halftime show with Prince... Maybe i'll flip on over to the animal planet and watch the Dog/Cat halftime show... Prince is just too freaky for me... I still think he is Micheal Jackson's uncle... Wonder where Tom and Gisel will be watching the game at?

Anyway --- the forecast is calling for wind and rain, could make things interesting. I am thinking that bad weather would have to favor the Bears as they are an outside team and play in the elements, but hey it's not like these guys have never played in bad weather before.

Manning over Rex (go gators)

Addai/Rhoades over Benson/Jones

Harrison/Wayne over Muhammed/BB

Dallas over Desmond

Colt o-line over Bears o-line

On offensive I give al the matchups to the colts....The only one that is arguable is the RB situation but I like what Rhoades has been doing to teams in the 2nd half...Althoug, the weather does favor the phsyical Benson / Jones combo

Colts d-line over Bears d-line

Bears linebackers over Colts linebackers

d-backs are a toss up

Special Teams -- -edge to the Bears and not just b/c of Devin Hester... If this game would come down to a 50 yard field goal I'm not so sure Adam Vinny has the leg for it...he is money inside 50 w/ his accuracy but for long field goals I give the edge to Mr. Gould

1st Quarter
Colts - Vinaterri 39 yard field goal

Colts - Vinaterri 29 yard field goal

2nd Quarter
Bears - Benson 4 yard run TD

Colts - Manning to Clark 27 yard pass TD

Bears - Gould 45 yard field goal

Colts - Manning to Harrison 9 yard pass TD

HALFTIME -- Colts 20 Bears 10

3rd Quarter
Bears - Gould 39 yard field goal (20-13)

Colts - Vinnaterri 39 yard field goal (23-13)

4th Quarter
Bears - Gould 44 yard field goal (23-16)

Colts - Rhoades 39 yard run (30-16)

NFL FINAL 4

Well I've had a good run so far in the playoffs lets continue.....

∆ N'ORLEAN SAINTS (+2) v. CHICAGO DA'BEARS

Well the saints did the best that they could to try and blow the game with REGGIE fumbling late in the 4th quarter, while the Bears offense came alive and REX looked good.

The saints have a lot more firepower than the bears and to be honest I would like to see them lose in the superbowl to Peyton but thats neither here nor there......I look for this game to be won in the first quarter if Rex can get the deep ball going early then the Bears should easily be able to run on the saints who looked awful on D against the e-a-g-l-e-s.

Robbie Gould won't need to kick one to win this one.

saints 17 BEARS 24

∆ NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (+3) v. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

The maybe everyone's been waiting for...whoever wins this game will be your superbowl winner and that my friends will be the colts.

Yes Peyton has played poorly this post-season, but he can have another bad game. No way will Peyton lose this game. First of all the colts will welcome the Pats to throw 50 times like they did last week and 2nd Maroney isn't getting the ball enough for the Pats run game to be effective...maybe that will change on game day.

The colts defense looks like the best thing since sliced bread, I think they will come back to earth a little bit this game but I also think Peyton will step it up.

Tom Brady --wow-- first Bridgette now Gisel.... well as least you two can go to the virgin islands and watch the superbowl on the satellite

pats 17 COLTS 31

NFL - Elite 8

2007 NFL -------------- ELITE 8 --------

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (+5.5) v. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

The eagles to me just aren't that good. They are missing pro bowlers Donovan McNabb, Jevon Kearse and Lito Shepard. But can the rookie tandum of Bush / Colston bet a group of veterans. Yes they can I expect 130 total yards from REGGIE and 300 from Brees. I think this will be a good game with the SIZZZZaints taking control half way through the 3rd sort of like the Pats /Jets game.

eagles 17 SAINTS 31

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (+4.5) v. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS

This seems to be the biggest game of the weekend according to most so called experts and polls. If I had any "marbles" I would take the chargers by 13. They averaged over 30 points a game this year. So whats stopping me from taking them? The patriots defense. No one talks about them but they average giving up only 13.8 points a game. Tom Brady needs to control the ball I think think the Pats need to run a little more with the combination of Dillon, Maroney, Faulk and Evans.

This could be an ugly game if the chargers D and Rivers come to play.

PATRIOTS 24 chargers 20

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (+4) v. BALTIMORE RAVENS

Maybe its just because I hate the ravens, but I really like the colts in this game. Peyton is too good to have another poor performance and I like the combination of the Colts #2 pass defense v. air mcnair. The colts run defense is ranked like 100, but with a healthy d-line and bob sanders they are much better than the numbers show. And I have become a big fan of the combination rb's Addai and Rhoades.

Peyton with 3 tds

COLTS 27 ravens 16

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (+8.5) v. CHICAGO "DA" BEARS

Another game, still no "marbles." Something about this seahawk team. I really want to pick them to win. Hasselback and Alexander could have a big game but I'm going to go w/ the Bears defense and the foot of my boy Robbie Gould. The weather is supposed to be nasty and so will the Bears defense. I think the bears wil run a lot and keep the score close.

FLORIDA GATORS (+7) v. OHIO STATE BUCKEYES OVER / UNDER 47

Florida will win this game (period). Troy Smith will find a way to lose as the florida gator secondary will pick him off twice. What scares me about Florida is its field goal kicker but I expect him to have a good game connecting on all field goals under 38 yards.

Chris Leak is probably the ultimate x-factor in this game as he sometimes looks shaky but he is a 4 year starter and will be ready for his biggest test.

NCAA football swamp style

FLORIDA 31 ohio state 20

Freshman Tim Tebow will be a key to Florida's victory tonight. Look for tebow to have a passing touchdown similiar to what he did against LSU above.

The steve smith of NCAA football Percy Harvin will be Florida's biggest run threat I expect to see a fake reverse to him hitting dallas baker in the endzone.

Maybe the best defensive player this year reminds me a little of Polamalu, Reggie Nelson will make some NFL team happy next year when he is drafted. Remember how good LSU looked against notre dame? yea well Florida held those tigers to only 10 points.

3 games today

well picked both winners in the wild care games Loved how the cowboys lost HAHAHAHA

JETS (+9) v. PATRIOTS

This game will be over early the Pats will run run run all over the jets and then set up the play action pass and Brady will end up w/ 2 td passes. I think the jets are the worst team in the playoffs.

jets 13 Pats 38

GIANTS (+7) v EAGLES

I'm glad to see Jeff Garcia doing well, 1. b/c I like him and 2. b/c I hate McNabb.... anyway If I'm the giants I make sure I put someone on westbrook he is there only true threat although stallworth has played well Madison should be able to cover him. Tiki Tiki Tiki all eyes will be on him and thats why everyone will be talking about how good Eli looked after this game. Should be a great game.

Giants 28 Eagles 21

Ohio (+6) v. So. Miss

So. Miss is a much much better team and played a tough non-conference schedule including a respectable showing against the Gators.

Wild Wild card

1 NCAA game to get out of the way

WESTERN MICHIGAN (+7) v. CINNCY OVER / UNDER 42

This could be a close game but Cinncy has the edge in that they played a tough tough schedule...but let's not forget that W. mich only lost to FSU by 8 earlier this year.... who care cinncy was one play away from beating ohio state.

Cinncy 31 W. Mich 20 OVER

NFL

Chiefs (+7) v. Colts

I still think its Peyton's year and i'm tired of hearing about the defense concerns...what concerns me for the chiefs is how bad trent green is....they should have stuck with damon huard.....Peyton will have a 4 td day and the colts will triumph...the winner of this game is who I will be rooting for the rest of the way but it will be the colts over the giants (like I said at the beginning of the year)

chiefs 17 COLTS 31

Cowgirls (-3) v. Seahawks

The cowgirls are playing terrible but they are not a team to take lightly at any given moment TO may decide to actually catch the ball...haha just kidding...we all know he only caches 67 percent of the passes thrown his way. All kidding aside look for seattle to run a lot earlier and then expose roy williams to his terrible pass coverage. Should be a close one with seattle getting the edge for playing at home.

WF v. Lville

tonight's game

WAKE FOREST (+10) v. LOUISVILLE 53.5 OVER / UNDER

Should be a good game with WF's defense going against L'ville's offense...L'ville will score, the question is whether or not WF can score enough to keep up w L'vlle. They need to keep the game close and not fall behind.

WAKE FOREST 31 louisville 28
