NFL WEEK 13

WEEK 13 IN THE NFL gets started early on thursday night with a chance for the Ravens to clinch the NFC North title and a spot in the playoffs. I hate the Ravens. Moving on, yes I am officially axing the Steelers from the playoffs and hoping we get a solid top 12 pick. Ben there's always next year.

Ok...lets just get to it.

Thursday November 30, 2006 ( I turn 24 today, thank you)

RAVENS (+3) @ BENGALS

It's my Birthday and there is no way God will ruin my day with a Ravens win. Come on Bungals. I like watching CJ play as he is entertaining. This is a good mid week matchup and the Bengals are on fire as are the Ravens. Should be a good one.

Ravens 17 Bengals 21

MINNESOTA (+9) @ DA BEARS

The bears played sloppy football last week and a trip home will be just what the doctor ordered. The vikings blew there chance to win in the Dome and will feel the wrath of Urlacher. Da Bears in a easy one.

Vikings 13 Bears 24

ARIZONA (+6.5) @ ST. LOUIS

All of a sudden Bulger cannot pass, not sure what is going on with that but I have a feeling things will change at home this week. Cards only ran the ball 6 times last week or something like that and Lion's Hart had over 400 yards passing. This should be a good offensive show with the Rams ending up on top.

Cards 20 Rams 31

INDY (-7.5) @ TITANS PICK OF THE WEEK

What a line. Colts by a touchdown and a 2 point conversion. They will cover that in every quarter of this game. I like this Game A LOT. Vince will struggle against the Colts secondary who gets Bob Sanders back.

Colts 35 Titans 14

SAN FRANCISCO (+7) @ SAINTS

If this game was in SF I would pick them to cover as their D is playing unbelievable but I don't think anyone can stop Mr. Brees at this moment in time with or without Marques Colston who may be back. My players of the year so far are Brees and Gore.

49ers 17 Saints 28

ATLANTA (+2) @ REDSKINS TOP 3 PICK OF THE WEEK

The skins in my opinion were lucky to win last week against the Panthers. The falcons are an up and down team and I think Vick will be looking to make up for his middle finger salute. It's good that they are on the road this week. But in any event Matt Schaub should be the Falcons QB. my prediction is he will be if mora ever leaves.

Falcons 24 Redskins 20

KANSAS CITY (-5) @ CLEVELAND TOP 3 PICK

Gotta love the Browns. Week in and week out you can count on them to not cover the spread and thats why I love this game again. A high powered offense should be even better this week with a healthy Gonzalez and Trent's 3rd game back. LJ 31 carries 187 yards 2 tds. thank you.

Chiefs 38 Browns 13

DETROIT (+13.5) @ NEW ENGLAND

NE beat the Bears but it was ugly. Detroit got killed by the Dolphins and that was ugly as well. I think they should throw to Roy Williams at least 20 times a game if they want a chance to win this year. I like the Lions team but obviously something needs to change.

Lions 17 New England 24

SAN DIEGO (-6) @ BUFFALO

This game just missed being one of my top picks as the chargers get Merriman and Castillo back on the defensive side of the ball and since LT is playing the offense will be just fine whether he is running passing or throwing the ball. I love you LJ but I wish I would have picked LT instead.

Chargers 28 Bills 16

JETS (-2) @ PACKERS

Come on Brett you should have won at Seattle but I do put a lot of that on the Coach with some horrible decisons he made in the 1st half. The jets are a better team this year but Brett will win one at lambeau this week.

Jets 20 Packers 21

JACKSONVILLE (PICK) @ MIAMI

I like the suit Del Rio but not Jacksonville on the Road. Just too inconsistent and Miami is my darkhorse to make playoffs even though Ronnie is hurt he wasn't doing much when he was healthy. Joey needs to protect the ball.

Jax 17 Dolphins 20

HOUSTON (+3) @ RAIDERS

The raiders should win this game but I'm sure they will find a way to lose. The Raiders D has played well all year and I think they will dissapoint this week unless they can get to Carr early and often he may have a 400 yard type game.

Texans 24 Raiders 16

TAMPA BAY (+7.5) @ STEELERS

Both teams got shutout last week.

TB 12 Steelers 20

DALLAS (-3.5) @ GIANTS

I think Dallas will represent the NFC in the super bowl, at least at this point in time but for whatever reason Eli has success against the boys. Giants in a nail biter.

Cowboys 23 Giants 24

SEATTLE (+3.5) @ DENVER

Yet another game that came close to my top 3 for the week. Does vegas really think that Cutler can beat the defending NFC championship team that has a healthy Alexander back? I don't.

Seattle 24 Broncos 20

CAROLINA (-3) @ EAGLES

The eagles are nothing without mcnabb. If Delhomme doesn't win this week then I think its about time the Panthers call Jake the Snake.

PANTHERS 31 Eagles 20

The Final Week (NCAA)

Well it's the final week of NCAA football at least until the Bowl Season Starts on December 20. There are only 13 games on the slate but there are some Biggies, 3 major conference championship games and a chance for USC to clinch a spot in the BS game (yes I am bitter)

I'll start with the Big 3 ----

BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

NEBRASKA (+3.5) v. OKLAHOMA

This should be a great game with a "trick-play" minded offense in Nebraska and a gritty Oklahoma team who has overcome a lot. I just think Oklahoma's D will be enough for the win.

Nebraska 20 Oklahoma 24

SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

ARKANSAS (+3) v. FLORIDA

I think Arkansas may be feeling bad for themselves after the loss last week to LSU, and Florida will be fired up knowing they still have a 10 % chance of being in the title game. I heard on PTI today how Florida doesn't run up the score like they use to and this hurts the Gators in the polls, Florida isn't the team they use to be in that they now rely more on their Defense, which is one of the best in the country.

Arkansas 17 Florida 28

ACC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

WAKE FOREST (+3) v. GEORGIA TECH

I don't know what to think of GT, they seem to never utilize their best player Calvin Johnson and there D goes from one of the best to mediocre every other week. Wake Forest was impressive in College Park last week and I think its their year

WF 24 GT 21

The rest of the games:

OHIO (+3) @ CENTRAL MICHIGAN - MAC CHAMPIONSHIP

I like Ohio in this game mainly because of how these two teams have been playing to end the year. Should be a close game.

Ohio 27 C. Mich 23

SO. MISS (+4.5) @ HOUSTON - CONFERENCE USA CHAMPIONSHIP

This is an interesting line as So Miss has already beat Houston 31-27 this year. I think So Miss could lose this game but I'll go Favre-style.

So. Miss 28 Houston 24

RUTGERS (+8) @ WVU TOP PICK

WVU averages over 300 yards rushing and only give up around 50 yards rushing a game, thats enough for me as Rutgers has no pass offense. WVU will dominate in Morgantown.

Rutgers 20 WVU 38

ARMY (+20.5) @ NAVY

Navy averages 333 yards rushing and army gives up a lot of yards rushing. Navy should have a field day.

Army 13 Navy 42

LA. TECH (+10) @ NEW MEXICO ST

both teams played well last week and I like la tech getting 10.

La Tech 27 NM St 24

STANFORD (+28) @ CALIFORNIA

Cal's offensive has been missing in the last few weeks and altough stanford is 1-10 they are a 'decent' team. Cal could cover but i'll take the 28.

Stanford 13 Cal 38

USC (+13.5) @ UCLA

This is my PLEASE GOD LET UCLA WIN game of the week. Can ucla win? yes they are playing well and are at home. USC however is on a roll and are poised to play Ohio St in the BS final game but you can be sure I'll be pulling for ucla.

USC 21 ucla 24

AIR FORCE (+17) @ TCU

AF runs and TCU stops the run we will see which one is better and I think TCU will have enough Fire Power to win by 20.

AF 17 TCU 37

FRESNO ST (+4) @ SAN JOSE ST

Fresno St went from the top to the bottom quickly and SJ St has had an impressive year.

Fresno State 20 San Jose St 31

UCONN (+27) @ LOUISVILLE

This is a big line and it should be as L'ville is an offensive powerhouse, however I don't think they will win by 27.

uconn 20 L'ville 42

COLORADO ST (-3) @ SD ST TOP PICK

The rams are having a down year but come on they are better than 3 points against Marshall's old team.

Col St 35 SD ST 14

OREGON ST (+7.5) @ HAWAII TOP PICK

Oregon st has played 2 teams similar to Hawaii and they lost 42-13 to boise state and 41-14 to Cal, how did they beat USC is the true question Hawaii will dominate.

Oregon State 24 Hawaii 45

LA MONROE (-3) @ LA LAFAYETTE

who cares.

monroe 23 lafayette 24

TROY (-12) @ FLA INT'L TOP PICK of the week

fla int'l may be one of the worst team ever at 0-11 they are averaging less than a TD a game. For the second week in a row Fla Int'l is involved in my Pick of the Week.

Troy 31 Fla Int'l 10

NFL WEEK 12

DA NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE --- TURKEY STYLE
There are 2 constants in my NFL picks... 1. I will have a picture of Chad Johnson, the best WR in the game and 2. I will make some bad picks, but hopefully that chances this week. I feel like there are a lot of 'easy' games this week which really scares me. O well
ONTO DA PICKS
THURSDAY NOVEMBER 23, 2006 HAPPY TURKEY DAY
MIAMI (-3) @ DETROIT
Miami was extremely lucky to win last week but luck is all you need (just look at the Ravens), Detroit continues to dissapoint me so I cannot pick them although they could show up at anytime and offensively dominate.
Miami 21 Detroit 17
TAMPA BAY (+11) @ DALLAS
Dallas may be the best team in the NFL plus I love Tony Romo now that I found out he is knocking boots with Jessica "Plata-my-puss" Simpson.
And lets not forget the cowgirls ---- Go TO T- TERRY O-OWEN haha
Tampa 13 Dallas 27
DENVER (+1) @ KANSAS CITY
I think its mandatory to blow leads against SD (denver, pittsburgh, cinncy) but K.C. won't blow their lead with LJ carrying the ball 30+ times. Look for Trent to have success on play-action passes as the Denver D is aggressive. Also, look for the snake to help win the game for KC.
Denver 20 KC 24
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 26, 2006
JACKSONVILLE (-3) @ BUFFALO
The nfl is crazy you never know which 'team' will show up. I gotta go with Jacksonville but Buffalo has the tools to beat them.
Jax 20 Buffalo 13
HOUSTON (+6) @ J-E-T-S
Everyone is calling out Chad Pennington but lets not forget how well he played at the beggining to get the Jets where they are. Houston you blew it against Buffalo, can't take ya today.
Texans 17 Jets 24
BLITZBURGH (+3) @ RAVENS
I'm excited for this game and you will probably see me run across the field naked with www.xfactor.blogspot.com written on my ass...well actually it won't fit but anyway COME ON PITTSBURGH. Dear Ben, please scramble and don't try to force any passes and Bill stop putting Holmes back to return the ball, thanks guys and good luck.
Pittsburgh 23 Ravens 17
CINNCY (-3) @ CLEVELAND PICK OF THE WEEK
Palmer to Johnson it will happen 8 times for 139 yards and 2 scores in a laugher.
Bengals 31 Browns 14
CARDINALS (+6) @ MINNESOTA TOP 3 PICK
Vikings have fallen apart but they win at home and will win this week.
Cards 13 Vikings 28
SANTA CLARA (+5.5) @ ST LOUIS
How bout those 49ers in the playoff hunt, if I had any balls I would take them this week but I think it will be hard to stop St. Louis 2 weeks in a row.
Santa Clara 20 St. Louis 21
NEW ORLEANS (+3) @ ATLANTA
It's obvious that vick is nothing more than a fast guy with a cannon, not a winner, not a QB but Fast Guy / Cannon. Brees' arm may fall off after this game is over i say he will have 410 yards passing.
NO 28 ATL 17
CAROLINA (-4.5) @ WASHINGTON TOP 3 PICK
The panthers are for real..believe. Washington will be lucky to get past mid-field other than on special teams. Maybe next year D.C.
Panthers 23 Skins 6
OAKLAND (NOT ENOUGH OR +13.5) @ SAN DIEGO
I hope the chargers wear powder blue this game, just because.
Oakland 10 Chargers 30
CHICAGO (+3) @ NEW ENGLAND
Apparently everyone was wrong thinking that Brady was hurt. Rex could throw 3 tds or 3 ints, he needs to be more conistant and know when to go for it all, I think he will be a good QB for many years but NE won't lose again at home, will they?
Chicago 17 NE 21
LITTLE GIANTS (-3) @ TENNESSEE
This is a fool's line as the Giants are clearly better than the Titans, I know they haven't it shown it lately but just Trust Me they are.
Giants 27 Titans 14
PHILLY (+9) @ INDY
I'm tired of hearing "its good to lose a game or better to lose now rather than later or blah blah blah" losing is never good not even in scrabble, clue or monopoly. Indy will dominate the Donovan-less eagles.
Philly 13 Indy 30
GREEN BAY ( NO LINE YET ) @ SEATTLE
well there is no line at the moment but seattle is struggling luckily they get the pack w/ an injured favre.
GB 14 Seattle 27

Cinncy took down the not so might rutgers, good enough for me.

Spurrier is wanted by everyone, maybe he should get out now.

This is a big mismatch and New Mexico St will R-O-L-L.

SJ St 31 Idaho 21

ARK STATE (+5) @ UL LAF

I guess it was a man law to bet against the Mean Green but I can still pick them to lose right?

NT 20 La Mon 24

WAKE FOREST (+1) @ MARYLAND

Pitiful attempts last week by both teams. come on. This should be a good game and there is a lot on the line.

NCAA week 13 (tuesday and friday games)

I Feel like this week could be a Slam Dunk. I had fun picking all the games last week so lets do it again and Happy Thanksgiving to all 7 or so people that read this thing. I went a respectable 57% on picking the winners last week and this weeks goal is 64%, y 64%? y not.

I am extremely worried that Florida could lose to FSU, but I'm hopin Urban gets the offense in high gear. I hate Charlie Weiss, but I'm hoping ND can beat USC at the coliseum. Actually, I hope USC wins and then lose to UCLA, but enough of my hopes and dreams. Let's Get To It!

Picks are for Entertainment Only, but if you go to Vegas and use my picks good luck.

Tuesday November 21, 2006

BOWLING GREEN (+6) @ TOLEDO

This is a fairly even matchup with both teams coming in at 4-7. BG has lost 4 straight and hell why not make it 5. TOLEDO

BG 17 Toledo 27

Thursday November 23, 2006 TURKEY DAY

BOSTON COLLEGE (-4) @ MIAMI TOP 10 PICK

Convict U. lost to Virginia, geez o wheez what has happened to the U. Well, they suck thats what happened. BC is on the verge of winning the ACC (only becuase VT won't make it to the championship game) and I think they will handely beat the U.

BC 28 Miami 17

Friday November 24, 2006

NORTHERN ILLINOIS (-7.5) @ EASTERN MICHIGAN PICK OF THE WEEK

Well No. Ill. lost their starting qb last week but E. Mich does give up almost 200 yards rushing a game and Garret Wolfe averages around 160 a game. I like these stats a lot.

No. Ill 38 E. Mich 17

OHIO (-3) @ MIAMI (OHIO) TOP 10 PICK

This game baffles me, what is vegas thinking on these MAC spreads. Ohio is clearly the top of the mac and Miami is at the bottom. I feel like a kid in a candy store on allowance day.

Ohio 24 Miami 13

KENT STATE (+3.5) @ BALL STATE

I like the home team in this game they have a better offense.

Kent State 17 Ball State 28

TEXAS A&M (+13.5) @ TEXAS UPSET OF THE WEEK

The "x-factor" in this game is how healty is McCoy? And what was up with Texas' Defense in the Kansas State loss? Texas A&M has 3 losses by a total of 6 points. I like the Aggies in this one.

Texas A&M 31 Texas 28

CENTRAL MICHIGAN (-16.5) @ BUFFALO

Buffalo is obviously terrible but the question is will they lose by 16.5? I guess they will.

Central Mich 34 Buffalo 14

LSU (PICK) @ ARKANSAS GAME OF THE WEEK PART I

I think LSU has the better team in this game but I hope Arkansas pulls this one out. LSU has a stronger offense but tend to give the ball away. This should be a great game.

LSU 20 Arkansas 21

TULANE (+16.5) @ TULSA

Tulsa is a better team but have put together a string of losses while Tulane's D won them a 10-9 victory last week, I say take the points.

Tulane 20 Tulsa 30

WESTERN MICHIGAN (+2) @ AKRON

Western Michigan was one touchdown away from beating FSU last week and have played better than Akron this year (i feel like i'm taking too many away teams)

WM 24 Akron 10

COLORADO (+15) @ NEBRASKA

Nebraska will win this game but Colorado will keep it close.

Colorado 14 Nebraska 23

OREGON (+3) @ OREGON STATE

I really want to pick Oregon but Oregon State has been on fire and Oregon hasn't won at Org state in over 10 years.

Oregon 17 Oregon State 28

AIR FORCE (-10.5) @ UNLV

Unlv is a bad bad team. Air Force should 'cruise' to victory.

AF 31 Unlv 13

FRESNO STATE (-12) @ LOUISANA TECH TOP 10 PICK

La. Tech is an offensive cordinator's dream.

Fresno State 42 La Tech 17

REMATCH ? maybe

THERE IS NO REASON FOR A RE-MATCH

The score was 42-39. This game was supposed to be a match-up of 2 tough defenses. They didn't get the memo, as it was score after score.

Michigan had zero turnovers and Ohio State had 3 and yet Ohio State still won, winning the Big Ten and an automatic birth to the BCS game.

In my opinion a 1-loss Florida, Arkansas or USC deserves their shot at Ohio State before Michigan get another crack.

Why USC?

They have lost only once all year and that was to Oregon State. As of late they have been dominate. They beat Nebraska, possible Big 12 champ, killed Arkansas, possible SEC Champ, and other notable foes. Plus they still have a games against Notre Dame and UCLA.

Not USC!

They lost to Oregon State, out of all the 1 loss teams USC is the only team to get beat by a team not ranked in the top 20. Plus they had numerous close calls against lower Pac 10 teams, Arizona, Wash, Wash St. Furthermore, aren't you tired of seeing USC going for the title?

Why Arkansas?

They are the possible SEC champs, which is far and above the toughest conference from top to bottom this year. Their only loss to date was in their first game of the year. They are the "cinderalla team" this year in the NCAA coming out of nowhere to be in the top 5.

Not Arkansas!

They have only beat 2 ranked teams all year, Tennessee and Auburn, but they have a chance to beat two top 10 teams to end the year LSU and Florida. They got pounded by USC 50-14, do we really want a team that lost by 36 playing for the title?

Why Notre Dame?

Notre Dame fans are everywhere and every game is on tv and it would boost tv ratings. They only have one loss and that was a turnover ridden game against Michigan. They have a chance to show how good they are agianst USC at the Coliseum this saturday.

Not Notre Dame!

They got hammered at their own field 47-21 (again a 26 point loss in the final game?) Notre Dame only beat 1 team currently ranked in the top 25, Georgia Tech. And out of all the 1 loss teams in contention they have by far the worst defense.

Why Florida?

Possible SEC champs (toughest division this year). Florida has a charismatic Freshman in Tim Tebow that could possibley be an "x-factor" in the BCS game and have a wide fan base boosting tv ratings. Their only loss is to Auburn which involved a controversial call as Florida was drving for the win.

Not Florida!

Florida only has 2 wins over top 25 teams, but they still have Florida State and Arkansas. Florida has played some close games which voters are used to the fun and gun thrashings (which hurts them in the polls) but have given up only 12 touchdowns all year.

MY SOLUTION

ARKANSAS - their only way in is to beat LSU, Florida and have Notre Dame beat USC

Notre Dame - not gettting in, if they beat USC, Michigan or Florida or Arkansas will get in over them mainly because ND can't jump over Michigan because they got pounded by them.

Michigan - may get in no matter what but they are hoping for USC and Florida losses.

USC - beat Notre Dame and UCLA, hope for a Florida loss but may get in w/o a Florida loss

Florida - beat FSU / Arkansas (by 17 or more), hope USC losses or looks bad winning.

I think that if USC or FLORIDA or ARKANSAS wins out they should jump MICHIGAN, if all 3 lose then I am ok with a rematch.

I think the best matchup would be OHIO STATE V. FLORIDA. Florida has all kinds of speed on defense and would make a good match up for T. Smith. Ohio State D is better than Florida's O but as I said Tebow could be an "x-factor."

Either way I say we need a Playoff System.

IMAGINE

1. Ohio State
8. Boise State 1. Ohio State 38 - 17

4. USC
5. Notre Dame 5. Notre Dame 28 - 24 1. Ohio State 24 - 21

3. Florida
6. Arkansas 3. Florida 20-14 3. Florida 28 - 27

2. Michigan
7. West Virginia 7. WVU 31-27 3. Florida 27 - 17

I can see it now ----- yummy

Thee NFL week 11

FOR ENTERTAINMENT ONLY

OAKLAND (+9.5) @ KANSAS CITY TOP 5 PICK OF THE WEEK

Randy Moss is seen here trying his best to catch the ball. Unfortunately he isn't "focused" enough to catch the ball.

The Raiders "D" is for real but the Offense is so horrible that it allows the other team to score 14 points.

Oakland 13 Chiefs 35

CINCINATTI (+3.5) @ NEW ORLEANS

Well I was right in predicting that ocho cinco would have a good game but what the heck happened to the Bungals D?

They should be ashamed of themselves.

The saints are licking their chops and unless the Bengals D steps it up they are in trouble.

I think turnovers will decide this game.

Bengals 27 Saints 30

PITTSBURGH (-3.5) @ CLEVELAND TOP 5 PICK OF THE WEEK

YAY Pittsburgh finally won. Ben looked good and Fast Willie had 2 plus 70 yard runs.

I'm a little worried about my man T.P. (polamalu) who suffered his 6th concussion last week. Yeah I did say 6th. I think he should rest up for a week to make sure he doesn't do serious damage.

Anway I'm glad we have the 2 games left agains the Dawg Pound.

Steelers 28 Browns 13

TENNESSEE (+13) @ PHILADELPHIA

I think that Donovan is waving to his mom for a clip in an upcoming Soup Commercial.

At least the Eagles, my lock of last week, delivered for me in thrashing the hopeless Redskins.

Titans --> Blew IT

Eagles will Dominate this game.

Titans 14 Eagles 38

ATLANTA (+4) @ BALTIMORE

Ray Lewis is a scary man. By the way where was Ray Lewis when Joey Porter got shot? I'm not saying, i'm just saying (sorry Hummer)

Anyway I usually have an I HOPE pick each week and this is mine.

The Ravens who I think are not as good as the record shows is better than the Falcons.

Please Mike Vick run wild or do something I know you know that you are not a QB but pretend for a week. thanks.

Falcons 24 Ravens 20

ST. LOUIS (+6.5) @ CAROLINA

I'm not going to lie I'm picking Carolina. This means that the Rams are going to win. At least thats how it has worked for the past 10 weeks or so it seems.

Tory Holt and Steve Smith should give fans a fun show.

Rams 20 Carolina 30

BUFFALO (+2.5) @ HOUSTON

Buffalo almost pulled of the upset w/o Willis and Houston swept Jacksonville for the year. I have a feeling that Houston is going to be in the playoffs next year or the year after.

Andre Johnson is a constant in the Fantasy World this year unlike last. 9 catches 123 yards 2 tds

Buffalo 17 Houston 27

NEW ENGLAND (-6) @ GREEN BAY

I really don't know what to think about this game. Favre is streaky well I should say his O-line is streaky and the Pats have unanswered questiosn surrounding the status of Mr. Tom Brady.

I may change this pick but as of right now I think the Pats are in a free fall.

Pats 20 Packers 21

WASHINGTON (+3) @ TAMPA BAY TOP 5 PICK OF THE WEEK

The Bucs Defense looked good for most of the Monday night game.

The skins are "hurting" as Portis is out for the year and Jason Campbell makes his first career start on the road. I think we will see a lot of Betts / Duckett.

Washington 10 Bucs 20

CHICAGO (-7) @ N.Y. JETS

They jets looked good against the Pats and are playing well this year.

I'm not picking against the Bears in this game although I think the Jets could beat them.

Bears 24 Jets 16

MINNESOTA (+3.5) @ MIAMI TOP 5 PICK FOR THE WEEK

The Dolphins secret weapons can be seen below.

Joey H and Ronnie B are playing much better as of late and the Vikings always find a way to lose. I like Brad Johnson and all but he needs to go if the Vikes want to compete.

Vikings 13 Fins 23

DETROIT (+2.5) @ ARIZONA

2 Teams with a lot of offensive weapons that stink. Kitna is better than Leinart.

Lions 27 Cards 20

SEATTLE (-3.5)@ SAN Francisco

Frank Gore is an animal. Hopefully his head is ok to play this weekend.

Senecca Wallace had done a great job and the 49ers defense has been playing unbelievable.

GO niners!

Seattle 17 49ers 20

INDY (-1.5) @ DALLAS PICK OF THE WEEK

I can't believe some people are taking Tony Romo over Peyton Manning. Yeah I agree that Romo has looked good and I am impressed but come on. The colts will throw all over the cowboys. Roy williams cannot cover, great run defender but cannot cover.

INDY 34 Cowboys 17

SAN DIEGO (+2.5) @ DENVER

This game could decide the AFC West and when I think 2 teams are even I take the Home Team. The Broncos have a tough D that could slow down LT and Philip "a Rivers runs through it" needs to look away from Champ Bailey.

Jake will do enough to win.

Chargers 20 Broncos 27

N.Y. GIANTS (+3) @ JACKSONVILLE

Two teams playing Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. Jax lose 2 to Houston at least the Gmen played da bears. I still think the GMen are an elite team.

Giants 24 Jax 17

NCAA week 12 (every game)

What A WEEK for the "DOG"

I sometimes forget how much I love Football. Well this past week was crazy and no not because the Steelers actually won.

Upsets were rampant on Saturday and I'm sure we will see more this week.

Because the craziness I decided to be crazy and pick every football game being played this week. (Wish me luck) TOP 10 GAME TO TAKE OR PICK OF THE WEEK = 10 best "bets"

PICKS ARE FOR ENTERTAINMENT ONLY

Tuesday Nov. 14

Ball State (+4.5) @ Toledo

Ball State gave Michigan a scare but are 3-7 on the year. Toledo 4-6, has won 2 straight and have been playing well. But Ball State did almost beat Michigan.

Ball State 21 Toledo 20

Wednesday Nov. 15

Miami (0h) (+4) @ Bowling Green

Miami only has 1 win but have 4 losses within 3 points. BG has lost 3 straight. Flip a coin.

Miami (OH) 27 Bowling Green 34

Thursday Nov. 16

Akron (+5) @ Ohio

Ohio is going to win the MAC, but I think this is a game they could lose. Akron is an up and down team and on a 2 game winning streak they played PSU tough and beat NC State earlies this year. Look for this game to be close.

Akron 20 Ohio 17

West Virginia (-12) @ Pitt

"Backyard Brawl" I would love to see Tyler Palko finally have a decent game and I think Pitt has a solid defense but they just aren't playing up to their ability as they lost to South Florida and Connecticut. Better luck next year Pitt.

WVU 35 Pitt 21

Friday Nov. 17

E. Michigan (+12.5) @ Kent State

E. Michigan is another 1 win team that usually keeps their games close while Kent State has been playing horrible as of late.

E. Michigan 17 Kent State 28

C. Michigan (-3.5) @ No. Illinois

This game will come down to whether or not the Chippewas can stop RB Garrett Wolfe and for whatever reason I think he will get around 200 yards.

C. Mich 24 No. Illionois 27

Saturday Nov. 18

Buffalo (+38) @ Wisconsin

Number of games Buffalo lost by 38 or more points 1. Number of games Wisconsin has won by 38 or more points 0.

Buffalo 7 Wisconsion 42

Connecticut (+1.5) @ Syracuse

10 years ago Syracuse would win this game by 35 or more but this isn't 10 years ago.

UCONN 31 Syracuse 20

Iowa (+3) @ Minnesota TOP 10 GAME TO TAKE

What happened to IOWA this year? I like Drew Tate and I think he will have a field day in the Dome. I think this game will have a lot of points scored.

Iowa 42 Minnesota 28

Indiana (+10) @ Purdue

Indiana has lost 3 of their last 4 games by a combined 109 points.

Indiana 17 Purdue 35

NC State (-4) @ UNC TOP 10 GAME TO TAKE

I expect this to be an offensive struggle with N.C. State getting the ball rolling in the 2nd half. UNC is terrible and Butch will have his work cut out for him.

N.C State 31 UNC 10

Oklahoma (-20.5) @ Baylor

20 is a lot of points but Oklahoma has a defense good enough to hold Baylor to 10 points so I'll continue to go with the Sooners.

Oklahoma 38 Baylor 10

Michigan St. (+17) @ Penn State

Ever since the ND debacle Mich St. has been on a downward roll and it will continue this week. I will be at this game watching the PSU defense dominate.

Michigan State 13 Penn State 31

Miami (-3) @ Virginia TOP 10 GAME TO TAKE

It was nice watching Convicut U lose to Maryland. Miami is 5-5 but all 5 losses have been relatively close and all 5 losses were to teams ranked in the top 25 at the time they played them. Virginia has a good Defense but a lack luster Offense.

Convicts 27 Virginia 13

Maryland (+7) @ Boston College

I am getting use to seeing the above scene as MD continues to beat good team after good team. I will be surprised if they go to BC and win.

Maryland 20 BC 23

Temple (+32) @ Navy

The mid-shipmen will destroy Temple but by how much?

Temple 13 Navy 38

Tennessee (-8.5) @ Vanderbilt TOP 10 GAME TO TAKE

Vandy is a decent team and play games relatively close however, Tennessee is looking to take their frustration out on someone and that will be Vandy.

Tennessee 31 Vandy 17

Mid Tn St (+15.5) @ South Carolina

Mid Ten is a good small school team but Spurrier will have the offense going after a near win at Florida.

Mid Tn St 10 S Carolina 34

Illinois (-2.5) @ Northwestern

This is a tough game to pick as Illinois has been played PSU, Ohio St and Wisconsin very close and you have NW who 2 weeks ago beat Iowa 21-7. I guess we I'll go with the home team.

Illinois 23 NW 24

La. Monroe (+19) @ Kentucky

Ky gives up a lot of points and scores a lot of points. I think their QB will have 5 TDS this game.

La Monroe 17 Kentucky 42

Duke (+27) @ Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech should easily cover this spread but for whatever reason they sparcely use Calvin Johnson. They only scored 7 against UNC.

Duke 10 Georgia Tech 35

Western Michigan (+16) @ Florida State TOP 10 PICK OF THE WEEK

Western Michigan is a decent team but FSU was embarassed last week and will be looking to punish someone.

West. Mich 10 FSU 38

Missouri (-14.5) @ Iowa State

2 teams that have lost 7 of their last 8 games. Chase Daniels will get back on track against the Cyclones.

Missouri 31 Iowa State 14

Houston (-16.5) @ Memphis

This game pits the best and the worst of Conference USA and I think they are seperated by more than 16.5 points. Houston's QB will be drafted in the first 3 rounds of the draft and he will show you why.

Houston 45 Memphis 17

Oklahoma State (+6) @ Texas Tech

These two teams score and score and score. I'll go with the home team.

Oklahoma State 34 Texas Tech 42

Army (+32) @ Notre Dame

32 points is a lot and Notre Dame will probably cover but I'm going to take the points.

Army 13 Notre Dame 42

Arkansas (-14.5) @ Mississppi State

I don't know why but I really want to pick Mississsippi State to win this game. Arkansas has played unbelievable lately but got crushed earlier in the year and beat vandy by 2 and alabama by 1 while Mississippi State is coming off a win at Alabama.

Arkansas 27 Mississippi State 17

Utah State (+37.5) @ Boise State

Utah State 12 touchdowns scored 43 given up. Boise State 47 touchdowns scored 20 given up.

HMMMM.....

Utah State 7 Boise State 56

ECU (-2.5) @ Rice

Both teams are on a 4 game win streak but ECU has a much better defense so I'm going with the D.

ECU 24 Rice 20

Tulsa (-6.5) @ SMU

Tulsa has played well all year until Rice put up 41 last week. But things happen.

Tulsa 38 SMU 28

Michigan (+7) @ Ohio St. THE BCS SEMI-FINAL GAME

Chad Henne, Mario Manningham, Steve Breaston, Mike Hart (4) against........

Troy Smith, Ted Ginn Jr., Antonio Pittman (3)

According to my math 4 v. 3 in favor of Michigan but then I guess you can add 1 for Home Field Advantage which makes it 4-4

Ohio State probably will win this game but for whatever reason, call it a gut feeling, I'm going with Michigan.

Michigan 24 Ohio State 17

Oregon St (-14.5) @ Stanford

Oregon St was chugging along with a 4 game win streak w/ wins over USC and Arizona then UCLA pounded them and Stanford won for the 1st time in 10 tries last week.

Oregon St 34 Stanford 17

Auburn (-3) @ Alabama TOP 10 GAME TO TAKE

I think this will be a tough battle between the two teams with Auburn scoring a late Touchdown.

Auburn 24 Alabama 13

Arizona (+13) @ Oregon

Oregon hasn't been the same team with Brady Leaf at the helm and Arizona is coming off a great win but lets not forget they had 4 turnovers given to them by Cal.

Arizona 20 Oregon 27

Kansas St (+2) @ Kansas TOP 10 GAME TO TAKE

Thank you Kansas State for beating Texas. How can I go against them? I can't

KST. 30 Kansas 23

New Mexico (+26.5) @ BYU

BYU scores a lot of points but New Mexico has not lost by 24 or more all year. There is a 1st for everything.

New Mexico 17 BYU 45

San Diego St (+17.5) @ TCU

TCU is a much better team I don't see them scoring a lot of points but the ? is whether SDST will score any points.

SDST 9 TCU 31

Wyoming (-10.5) @ UNLV TOP 10 GAME TO TAKE

how many 1-9 teams are there? Add UNLV to that list.

Wyoming 31 Unlv 13

UTEP (+3) @ Marshall

Jordan Palmer, carson's bro, holds a special place in my heart.

UTEP 27 Marshall 21

Idaho (+10) @ Fresno State TOP 10 GAME TO TAKE

Both of these teams like to give up a lot of points.

Idaho 24 Fresno 38

Washington (+8.5) @ Washington State

both of these teams have fallen apart. it's almost sad

Wash 23 Wash St 34

Virginia Tech (-2) @ Wake Forest

WF is having their best year ever. VT has being playing well as of late. VT's defense is giving up around 7 points per game. I think WF's dream season ends here.

Virginia Tech 21

Wake Forest 17

Arkansas St (+8) @ Troy St TOP 10 GAME TO TAKE

All of those tough teams Troy St plays has been paying off when they take on less formidable foes such as the Indians. Look for this to be a laugher.

Arkansas St. 10 Troy 30

Florida Atlantic (+5) @ North Texas

Is it a man law that you must not bet against the Mean Green? I hope not.

Florida Atlantic 24 North Texas 13

So Fla (+17) @ Louisville

So Fla is a defense team with a good defense. Louisville is coming off a stunning loss and I'm not sure how they will play in this game. I'm taking SF but only by the half point.

South Florida 17 Louisville 33

Utah (-1) @ Air Force

Does anyone else remember Beau Morgan. I loved that guy. Anyway, Utah should win this game.

Utah 28 Air Force 20

Rutgers (-7) @ Cinncy

This is a game Rutgers could lose if they aren't careful. But I am on the Rutgers / Ray Rice bandwagon.

Rutgers 27 Cinncy 17

Mississippi (+27.5) @ LSU

27.5 is a big margin. Miss is not a good team but they ain't that bad.

Mississippi 13 LSU 35

UAB (+14.5) @ Southern Miss

UAB has 4 losses in a row. This is not the Blazers year. Brett Favre will be happy.

UAB 13 So Miss 31

Nevada (-20) @ La Tech

la tech has given up 44 or more points in 6 games. Nevada has scored over 40 in there last 3 games. 1 thing is sure and thats Nevada will score over 40.

Nevada 49 La Tech 17

Cal (+6) @ USC

Freakin USC. I do not want to see them in the title game. If the real Nate Longshore stands up Cal will win this game, that is if their defense can stop USC.

Cal 34 USC 31

UCLA (+4) @ Arizona St

The pac 10 "anything can happen" I'm keeping this one high scoring and close

UCLA 34 Arizona St 35

San Jose St. (+24) @ Hawaii

The islanders, in their 10 games have scored under 40 only 2 and above 60 4 times. San Jose st showed that they can slow down a good offense last week against Boise State. But I say that was a fluke.

San Jose 21 Hawaii 49

week 10 picks

NFL WEEK 10 for entertainment only

The NFL is CRAZY!!!! You could probably flip a coin a do just as good as studying all the trends and stats. But what the hell I enjoy picking all the games. So onto DA PICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

upset of the week?:

SAINTS (+5) @ STEELERS

What a line, 1st place Saints giving 5 points to the last place Steelers.

Cowher benched ike .. i'd rather see deshea be benched for mcfadden but we will see if they can stop horn / colston.

To win the steelers need:
1. not to turn the ball over
2. pressure brees.

I think the terrible towels will be a rockin.. I don't know why i think this I just HOPE they will be

Saints 20 Steelers 26

San Diego (+1) @ Cincinnati

When will CJ OCHO CINCO show up? If I predict he will every week he has to at some point right?

ah what the hell ---- CJ 7 catches 120 yards 1 td

Chargers 20 Bengals 23

Chicago (+1) @ Giants

Why is that guy on the right (TIKI) retiring? B/c his wife told him to thats why
I don't for a second believe he really wants to but you can't just tell your wife no--or you could grow a set and tell her no..........anyways he has money i don't blame him

The Giants are the best in the NFC although injuries are piling up Arrington, Toomer, Strahan......

Chicago 14 Giants 24

Texans (+10) @ Jaguars

Well a few weeks ago the Texans pounded the Jags. However, David Gerrard has since taken over the QB position and the Jags have yet to look back.

Texans 16 Jags 24

Cleveland (+8) @ Falcons

haha --- see I told you I did not believe we should all jump on the Vick Experience...yes he is an amazing athlete with freakish abilities but he is not a top 10 QB in the NFL......none of this will matter this week

Browns 13 Falcons 31

Chiefs (pick'em) @ Dolphins

Joey Harrington has been putting up a lot of yardage and Ronnie Brown has resurfaced after an impressive victory at Chicago.

Larry Johnson will get his (over 125 yards 2 tds) but I think it is time Damon Huard comes back to earth this week as I need Trent Green to start when he comes back ....

Chiefs 23 Dolphins 24

Ravens (-7) @ Titans

since I now live in Baltimore I have become friends w/ a lot of raven fans (which sucks) but anyway they think this might be a trap game for Baltimore and boy would I love to see that...but I cannot fathom how Vince Young could beat the Ravens. The only way its going to happen is if "no so air mcnair" has multiple turnovers. GO TITANS

Ravens 20 Titans 10

Buffalo (+12.5) @ Indy

Go Colts. I love watching Peyton Manning play. Peter King thinks this will be a tight game and why not think that as a lot of indy games are close however the loss of WILLIS at RB for the bills will hamper the offense.

Bills 14 Colts 35

Washington (+7) @ e-a-g-l-e-s

I really dislike McNabb but he is going to shine in this game. Tony "ribs" Romo shredded the Redskin pass defense and I think McNabb and Co. will be out to show that they are for real in the NFC. This is my lock of the week.

skins 13 Eagles 27

Packers (+5.5) @ Vikings

Favre killed me last week. The vikings have a tought pass defense and depending on how healthy Chester Taylor is have a good running game. Brad will be back to his short passes and this will be a close game.

Packers 13 Vikings 17

J-e-t-s (+10) @ Patriots

If the pats decide to throw a lot they will dominate this game however I think you will see a lot of Maroney and Dillon --- eat up clock

Jets 17 Pats 23

Santa Clara (+6) @ Lions

sorry meant San Fran -- I hope they keep the name too good of a franchise to be changing names and how did they not get the money needed to stay there? makes me sick.

Both of these teams are on the rise unfortunately for the Niners Kitna is better than Smith at this point in time.

____ 49ers 17 Lions 24

Denver (-9.5) @ Oakland

you might see the sack record in a game get broken this week as the Raiders Offensive Line is terrible...i think that Aaron Brooks is pretending to be hurt just so he doesn't have to suffer the consequences.

Broncos 24 Raiders 6

St. Louis (+3) @ Seahawks

Senneca Wallace has been playing great as a role player for the hawks and I think he will be called on to win this game on a late drive. NOT HAPPENING.

The Rams sometimes show up and sometimes don't---They are bringing it this week.

Rams 23 Hawks 17

Cowboys (-6.5) @ Cardinals

If I didn't hate Dallas so bad I would probably jump all over this line and bet on dallas. (lets try this again). Dallas is by far the better team but the Cardinals play well at home losing to the Chiefs, Broncos and Bears by a combined 7 points (or something close to that mark)...

The key is to try and get the Edge to average more than 1 yard per carry... I think this will be a sloppy game with TO taking naps and Romo and Leinart throwing 2 picks a piece

Can you say Neil Racker 55 yard field goal to win in overtime? I CAN haha

Cowboys 23 Cards 26 overtime

Tampa Bay (+9) @ Panthers

Bruce Gradowski is much much better than phil simms' kid. But I would like to introduce him to Julius Peppers (2 sacks on monday night 1 forced fumble) and Chris Gamble (Int for a Td).

Steve Smith really is amazing.

Bucs 13 Panthers 24

NFL Mid Season Awards

NFL Mid - Season Awards

Well it's time for My first ever mid-season awards ...........drum roll

Most Surprising Team (good surprise):

The New Orleans Saints 6-2 1st place in the NFC SOUTH

I thought Brees would be a good addition but no one was predicting them to be in 1st place half way through the season. It's a good story and I think Karma has a lot to do with it. I'm rooting for them to win the NFC but not this week.

runner up: Baltimore Ravens 6-2 1st place in AFC NORTH

Most Dissapointing Team (I hate to admit it):

The defending "chumps"? Pittsburgh Steelers - 2-6 it breaks my heart
I am going to call a 10-6 finish and a loss in the AFC 2nd round to the Colts.

runner up: SI superbowl contender Miami Dolphins 2-6

Most Dissapointing Player:

Ben "band-aid" Roethlisberger - I really do not think it is all his fault as I blame Cowher for playing him too soon a few times. No player is going to ask to sit out of a game..... get it together big ben we need ya in the future.

runner up - Daunte Culpepper and TO --- at least culpepper is coming off an injury.. TO forgot how to catch costing dallas 2 games

MVP:

PEYTON - on pace for 4500+ yards 34 Tds 6 ints 16-0 (wow)
It's his year.

runner up: LT

Rookie of the Year:

We all guessed it would be a Saint just notMarques Colston (come on Reggie)

Colston is the go to guy for Brees and is a BEAST

runner up: no its not Mario but it is a Texan 4th in the NFL in Tackles Demeco Ryans

picks will be up tomorrow

College Football Week 11

Week 11 - NCAA ---- last week 8-5 against the spread

I am happy w/ an 8-5 record but I am hoping to improve on that this week...we shall see....

JoPa went down hard on saturday -- what a crazy old man --- he wants to coach this saturday --- I think its time for him to hang it up

1. He had the shits against Ohio State

2. He got plowed over and broke his leg against Wisconsin

3. He is 105 years old.

Ok Ok --- onto the picks for entertainment only

Louisville (-7) @ Rutgers

Wow this game might actually determine who plays for the Nat'l Championship. I find that hard to believe but many do believe it. I am hoping, wishing, praying that Rutgers wins so that the Big East does not have a team in the Championship Game but I don't see Rutgers winning.

Louisville 31 Rutgers 23

Georgia Tech (-13.5) @ UNC

North Carolina is terrible, really really really bad. Georgia Tech is pretty good.

GT 38 UNC 17

NC State (+17) @ Clemson

Which Clemson team will show up? They are a nasty run game but don't always utilize it. NC State has the players to make this a close game as long as they don't give up any homeruns on the ground.

N.C State 17 Clemson 31

Georgia (+13) @ Auburn

I think if this game was played in GA, Georgia would win but not at Auburn.

Georgia 16 Auburn 20

Miami (+3) @ Maryland

No Convict talk this week following a tragic death in Miami. I think that it could be the difference and really unite the Miami players however, since I am going to this game and want to root against the U I will pick against the U.

Miami 20 Maryland 27

Nebraska (-1) @ Texas A&M

I think that Nebraska wants / needs this game more than A&M as a loss will put them in a tie for the Big 12 title.

Nebraska 23 A&M 20

S. Carolina (+13.5) @ Florida

Florida really needs a big game to show that they deserve to be in the running for the Nat'l Championship game if L'ville stays undefeated. Spurrier will want this game more than any. I think we will finally see the right combination of Leak / Tebow.

S. Carolina 14 Florida 28

California (-13.5) @ Arizona

Arizona is up and down but CAL is up up up. Ever since the Tennessee loss they have been o na r-o-l-l.

California 41 Arizona 24

Notre Dame (-11.5) @ Air Force

This is my pick of the week ND will throttle AF. Yeah AF had a great game against Tennessee where they only lost by 1 but ND will throw throw throw.

Notre Dame 38 Air Force 20

Boise State (-14) @ San Jose

Yeah San Jose has lost only 2 games this year but they haven't played anyone. Maybe this game should be my Pick of the Week

Boise State 56 San Jose 20

Tennessee (+5.5) @ Arkansas

Arkansas has come along way since their 50-14 loss to USC, but Tennessee has lost to Florida and LSU by a combined 5 points. Tennessee is better than Arkansas and you will see why on Saturday.

Tennessee 27 Arkansas 21

Texas Tech (+8.5) @ Oklahoma

Oklahoma has 2 wins in a row over top 25 teams. Make it three after this week. Although I think 8 1/2 is a little high I'm going with it.

Texas Tech 23 Oklahoma 35

Alabama (+18.5) @ LSU

Wow what a big line. Alabama has not lost by more than 15 all year and they have played offenses better than LSU.

Alabama 14 LSU 27

Oregon (+8) @ USC

USC is 2 face this year you never know which team will show up. I hope they lose b/c I do not like them at all but I think they will beat the Quack Attack.

Oregon 27 USC 31
